Quick verdict: lighter device or separate handle?
Choose the Mini when reducing device weight is the deciding factor. Choose the Go 3 when you prefer a separate handle and want more speed settings. If noise, force under pressure, or comfort decides the purchase, these specifications cannot choose a winner for you.
The difference is about 326 g, or 0.72 lb. That makes the Mini approximately 45% lighter than the Go 3 by listed device weight. Think of roughly the mass of 326 mL of water, without a bottle. This is a packing comparison, not a finding about comfort or effectiveness.
Calculation: 1.6 lb × 453.59237 = 725.75 g; (725.75 − 400) ÷ 725.75 = 44.9%. Sources: Therabody specifications and Hyperice specifications, checked September 13, 2026. We converted their numbers; we did not weigh the products.

The practical difference
The Mini is listed at 0.40 kg, with three speeds, three attachments, USB-C charging and a travel lock. The Go 3 lists a 1.6 lb weight, five speeds, two attachments, USB-C and a carry case. These are manufacturer specifications, not our measurements.
Choose around your routine
For a bag that is already full, the Mini deserves a look because of its lower listed device weight. For someone who prefers holding a conventional handle, the Go 3 is worth considering. A smaller device is not automatically easier to hold: hand size, grip shape and the area you want to reach all matter.
Try a display unit if you can. Hold it without squeezing hard, reach where you expect to use it, and notice whether your wrist position feels natural. Do not let the number of speed settings make that decision for you.
Check the exact listing
Match the generation, included attachments and charger before comparing prices. A discounted earlier model is a different offer. Check the seller, return conditions and warranty coverage as well. The lowest headline price can be poor value if the bundle is incomplete.
What the specifications cannot decide
Three claims to check before paying more
- More speeds does not establish more force. Settings describe adjustment choices. They do not give a comparable measure of what happens under pressure.
- A longer advertised battery life is not a measured win. The published figures are 150 minutes versus up to 240 minutes. We have no common test of speed, applied load, attachment or battery age.
- A USB-C cable is not a complete charger guarantee. Both included-item lists name a cable. Check the manual for power requirements and confirm whether your chosen listing includes the wall adapter you need.
Compare the complete kit, then decide
Check the delivered price for the exact generation, your preferred attachment and the case or charger you would otherwise buy. Both manufacturers list a case, so a case alone does not separate these two standard kits. Do not pay twice for an accessory already included.
If an app or Bluetooth is essential, confirm support for the exact model in its manual. A general product-family FAQ can describe features that do not apply to every model. For unfamiliar specifications, use our massage-gun specifications guide.
When to buy neither: if your current device works and the replacement does not solve a specific packing, grip or accessory problem. We have not established a noise, durability or force advantage for either model.
Our buying view
Shortlist the Mini for lighter packing and the Go 3 for its handle style. Neither is a universal winner. We have not measured noise, force, durability or comfort, so those are questions to resolve before paying a premium.
